My favorite driver of all time was Terry LaBonte. He retired after the Nov Texas race last year. He did drive for M. Waltrip at Sonoma.. made my day. But, I am still a Nascar fan. Love the sport, don’t miss a race on TV, and go to 2-3 races a year. Now instead of buying all the Terry souvenirs, i buy the track ones.

Look for a new driver.

For me, it has taken some time for me to find a driver I absolutley like, ever since Rusty Wallace retired. If I ever go to a race, I will still sport Rusty Wallace gear, but its just look around for a new driver, if thats what you want to do.

My driver could retire in two years. I’ll get over it right away, sure I will be sad and miss seeing him race every week, but I will just start rooting for another driver luckily I have a few younger guys that I like that won’t be retiring in a couple years. I’ll just pick one of them and root for them like I do my fave driver now.

My favorite driver is Tony Stewart. It’ll be a long time before he retires but I’ll probably pick Denny Hamlin who is Tony’s team mate as my next favorite. I have a number of drivers that I like, so I’ll always have someone to cheer for.

Well, Carl Edwards won’t be retiring anytime soon. He is only 27 years old. But if Carl retired, then Tony Stewart, who is my second favorite, would be my new favorite driver.

To have a favorite driver is great but always have another that you will watch.
The list of favorites of mine that no longer race include;
Dale Senior
Davey Allison
Bobby Allison
Darrell Waltrip
Cotton Owens
Fireball Roberts
Curtis Turner
Junior Johnson
Some are no longer with us and some still show up at NASCAR events and wave at the crowds.
But there are drivers that have replaced them;
Tony Stewart
Jeff Burton
Denny Hamlin
so there are still good true racers out there so enjoy.

When we lost Dale Sr I dint know if I could watch another race without him, but I love Nascar but you do find another driver to hoot and holler for every Sunday…I just happened to go with Dale Jr

If Mark Martin ever retires I’ll be sad, even though I am a Kevin Harvick fan, i am also Mark Martin fan.

Well I was a diehard Richard Petty fan since I went to my first race in 1967,when he retired in 1992 it was Jeff Gordon’s first race and I noticed him in Busch so I started pulling for him. I don’t think it will be long before he retires so I guess I will be pulling for another Hendrick Motorsports driver.

I have more than one favorite driver, so when one retires, I’ll still have someone else to pull for, unless they all retire at the same time, then I’d find someone else to pull for.

Probably go with Kahne. He reminds me of Dale Jr. He takes what he gets and you never hear him complain about other drivers. Seems level headed.

Better that he retires, than goes into a long sad decline. Richard Petty fans and DW fans had to endure this. I always liked Bill Elliott, but he’s not much fun to watch now . . . .

For many years Mark Martin has been my favorite, and at 48, he’s still competitive. When he gets set back for some reason it’s a joy to watch him work his way back up through the field, every pass neat and clean.

But there have always been other drivers I liked. When Mark announced that he was only racing part-time this year, I had to choose another driver to root for, for the championship. I picked one of Mark’s former teammates and proteges, another "clean" driver and a real gentleman on and off the track . . . .

wait for it . . . .

Jeff Burton! :-)

My favorite will outlive me, hopefully! There are a few other drivers that I love, but Jr is our favorite. He inherited us from his Daddy.

Well my favorite driver use to be Ernie Irvan but when he retired it took me a while to find a new favorite driver. Now its Matt Kenseth! and if he retires ill root for my next favorite driver which is Denny Hamlin or Carl Edwards!!!

quit watchin it. i’ve spent the last 6 years watching 5 hours of racing every weekend and that takes alot of time up and when my driver retires i wouldn’t wanna spend another 6-10 years watchin it again. greatest sport but not that great

My favorite is only racing part time this year, so I relish every race I can see him compete in. I do have several others I do like to root on though when Mark’s not racing. I like Kenseth, Jamie McMurray, and Carl Edwards as my 3 regular second faves. Another one I really enjoy rooting for when he races is Boris Said.
It’s not that difficult to pick another one to root for, but having a new favorite, one that you’d actually put a sticker on your vehicle to show support of, now that’s the toughy.

Jeff Gordon has been mentioning about retiring, but I don’t think he will for a while. I hopr he will stay long enough to get 8 championships, but if he retires he will still be my favorite. I would cheer for Jimmie Johnson and Junior.
